It’s been a little while since my last post, and I am absolutely thrilled to reconnect with all of you! Today, I have some exciting news to share—I’m gearing up for a 19-day adventure through the breathtaking landscapes of Argentina, Brazil, and Peru! This dream trip has been in the works since April 2024 when I discovered an incredible deal through Inspiring Vacations. The excitement only grew when my two sons and their girlfriend decided to join us on this unforgettable journey!

Our Travel Organisation Checklist

As we prepare for this thrilling adventure, here’s a comprehensive checklist of what we’ve arranged so far:

First thing! Don’t forget to check your passport! Ensuring that it is valid and ready to go should be one of your top priorities before any trip. Many countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your departure date, so it’s crucial to verify this well in advance. Make sure you have everything in order to avoid any last-minute surprises!

• Tour Package: Covers all the essentials to ensure smooth sailing throughout our journey.
• Flights: While our tour package didn’t include flights, we decided to book them separately. Initially, I was a bit frustrated about the extra cost. However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise! By arranging our own flights through Latam Airlines (codesharing with Qantas), we’re flying in a couple of days early to explore local attractions and soak up the atmosphere before the tour begins.
• Travel Insurance: Peace of mind is essential! I found a fantastic policy through Insure and Go that covers our entire group under one plan—saving us some cash in the process!
• Visas: We made sure we’re fully prepared for entry into each country we’ll visit. A quick check on Smart Traveller provided us with all the necessary visa requirements.
• Hotels: While our tour package takes care of most accommodations, I went the extra mile for our stay in Argentina before the tour kicks off. I reached out to Inspiring Vacations, and they happily helped organize a great hotel at a reasonable rate.
• Layover Accommodation: We also needed a cozy spot in New Zealand for a ten-hour layover, as our flight schedule changed and we’d miss our original connecting flight. We chose to stay at the Pullman Auckland Airport, ensuring a restful break during our travels. One of the best perks of airport hotels is their availability for day-use rentals, which can save you money on accommodation!
• And finally, we can’t forget about money! I’ve set up a Travel Card through Qantas for convenient spending on our trip. Plus, I visited a local currency exchange to grab some cash for our immediate needs. We’re all set to make the most of our adventure!
